Sara has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in English, as well as a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University.

 

She also has a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Leadership in Learning with an Added Authorization in Leadership and Learning.

 

Sara has experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students and has a passion for teaching reading and writing. Throughout her experience teaching in the general education classroom, she worked with students who struggled with reading. She desired to be able to spend more time with each student, understand the way they learn, and then help them become excellent readers. 

 

Sara followed this desire to better support struggling readers by traveling to San Luis Obispo and received training in the research-based reading intervention program, Lindamood-Bell. This program uses sensory-cognitive instruction that supports students in strengthening their reading skills.
